Bagno di Romagna is located on the Apennines between Romagna and Tuscany, along the E45 which connects Rome to Ravenna. The town is found in the National Park of the Casentinese Forests 70 km from the Riviera and from Arezzo, 90 km from Florence.
Hotel delle Terme Santa Agnese is a historic residence dating from the second half of the 17th century commissioned by Leopold II of Lorena, Grand Duke of Tuscany. However, its origins date to the late 3rd century B.C. when the first public baths of the Roman Republic were built.
THE SPA CENTER
The spa area is located inside the hotel, over the springs of hot hyper-thermal water at the centre of the ancient settlement of Roman bathhouses, the traces of which are preserved in the adjacent area. The thermal water of Sant'Agnese has hyper-thermal characteristics of a unique alkaline-sulphur nature. Point of excellence are the grottos with the tepidarium (thermal spring at 38°C) and the calidarium (hyper-thermal spring at 43°C). The relaxation areas are fitted out in the 18th century rooms with large vaulted ceilings and high cast iron columns, incorporating the 17th century Palazzo Grisolini, with historic areas which have been perfectly restored and made available to guests.
THE WELLNESS CENTRE
The modern Wellness Centre offers facial and body treatments guaranteed by highly skilled staff, in addition to a new COSMETIC LINE with SANTA AGNESE thermal water, which contains thermal water, mud and local plant and flower extracts.
Bagno di Romagna is an integral part of the National Park of the Casentinese Forests hosting some of the most characteristic areas, like the Riserva Integrale of Sassofratino, the Forest of Lama and Ridracoli, The Ecomuseum of Water. There are also the nature and peace areas like Parco Laghi, Monte Fumaiolo and numerous uncontaminated waterways. Sports lovers can find a wide offer of excursions on mountain bike, foot and horseback.
The artistic and cultural heritage of the region is expressed through a network of abbeys, monasteries and shrines of rare beauty, like that of Verna, of Camaldolino and of the Madonna di Corzano.
